Japanese scientists are preparing to launch a satellite made of wood into space

Satellites that have reached the end of their useful life eventually become space debris, some of which, falling down, burn up in the Earth’s atmosphere. At the same time, the combustion products (often toxic) accumulate and become a serious problem for the environment. In this sense, a spacecraft, some of whose fragments are made of wood, looks much safer.
