A new type of cotton bandage will kill germs without antibiotics

The obtained preparation was used for impregnation of hydroxypropylcellulose material, and from it by electrospinning method fibres were obtained, which were woven into the fabric of a medical dressing based on cotton. All the materials: cellulose, cyclodextrin, cotton and Lawson, are natural and safe. The resulting dressing provided an optimal environment for healing and simultaneous wound decontamination. Tests showed the effectiveness of this protection against both Gram-negative and Gram-positive bacteria, as well as E. coli and Staphylococcus aureus.
